Can ball bearings replace roller bearings?

In some situations, ball bearings can replace roller bearings. For example, in equipment requiring high-speed rotation, ball bearings are more suitable than roller bearings. Ball bearings are also a better choice when accommodating smaller loads. However, for equipment requiring high loads and thrust, roller bearings are more suitable. Furthermore, in environments with high vibration and shock, roller bearings can withstand pressure better than ball bearings.
